Tell us about yourself
By day I’m a clerical worker and by night I am a writer. From poetry to novel, I enjoy telling a good story or expressing a heartfelt emotion. I have 34 self published novels, poetry, and meditation books. In addition, I’ve been published in Circle Magazine, The American Tarot Association’s Quarterly Journal, What’s Cooking America, Children, Churches and Daddies, Place second in Words of Women 2010 Writing Contest, 2012 Daily Flash, and The Deadman’s Tome. I have a bachelor’s degree in business and English Professional Writing and Book Editing. On the side, I have a small editing business. In addition to my work, I love to read, crochet, crafting, research genealogy, and spend time with family. I have three adult daughters and have been married to my husband for 37 years. I’m the proud grandma of six fur babies – my daughters’ cats.

Mallory follows her magi gifts back to Linos Province where all the magi were persecuted and most killed. Her magi powers send her to help a boy. In saving the boy, she joins a small group who need her magi powers. The small group escapes from hostile villagers and magi hunters. Reaching Scons Province doesn’t offer safety only more challenges for Mallory, Leland, Pintra, Faolan, Jadan, Ovra, and Erga.
This is a fantasy novel inspired by my regional geography.
Content Advisory for YA readers: Wild Magic – In movie rating, it would be rated PG13. Some of the material is adult in discussion but there is no sex in this book but a little violence.
What influenced you to write your current genre?
I read most genres. If the story captures my attention, I’ll read it. For writing, I like the idea of creating my own world and rules. Fantasy and science fiction have so many options to choose from I find it irresistible. I’ve read books which cross a wide array from a twist on our own society to worlds which are completely made up. By writing in these genres, there are no limits to my creativity and imagination.
Who are your favorite authors?
This is the hardest question to answer for me. There are so many…
Laura Ingalls Wilder
JD Robb / Nora Roberts
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
What are your favorite books?
Sorcery & Cecelia – Patricia Wrede
Thirteenth Child – Patricia Wrede
Pride & Prejudice – Jane Austen
In Death series by JD Robb
But What of Earth – Piers Anthony
Adept Series – Piers Anthony
Incarnation of Immortality – Piers Anthony
Mode series – Piers Anthony
Pern series – Anne McCaffery
Powers Trilogy – Anne McCaffery
Acorna series – Anne McCaffery
Harry Potter series – JK Rowling
Who are your favorite literary characters?
While no characters jump to mind, I like characters who are complex. They are meant to be the hero but they don’t necessarily think they are hero material. I like strong women and men who are confident enough to help their counterparts be strong.
Is there anything you want to share with potential readers?
I’m going back to the movie ratings – most of my books are R rated. In general there is a story with all aspects of life including sex. At the same time, I try to make that meaningful in the book not gratuitous. In my books I hope readers find a story or a character who they can relate to and want to learn more about. My hope is my stories will make them laugh, be on the edge of their seats, cry, and walk away from the book saying “I want more!”
