JQM Literary Spotlight Presents “UNLAWFULLY AT LARGE” by MARK ROMAIN

Kindle 1563X2500 pixels-Front Cover-UNLAWFULLY AT LARGE-V1

FIRST, LET’S GET TO KNOW YOU A BIT.  TELL US SOMETHING UNIQUE ABOUT YOURSELF:

When I was much younger I was heavily involved in the martial arts. I studied western boxing, kick boxing, Wing Chun kung fu, and Escrima. I ran a successful club and even wrote a training manual for Escrima, the Filipino art of stick and knife fighting. That was my first foray into publishing!

What is the Genre and Audience for this book:

I write gritty London Noir crime thrillers that are perfect for readers who like realistic police procedurals. The books are full of action, drama and (some would say gallows) humour.

What inspired you to write this book:

I’ve always enjoyed murder, mystery and suspense thrillers and I had promised myself from a young age that I would eventually get around to writing one. Besides which, as I was a real-life homicide detective for over ten years, itmade a great deal of sense towrite about a subject that I actually knew about. For me, it was a no-brainer!

Tell us about your book:

Unlawfully At Large is the second book in the DCI Tyler Thriller series. Here’s the back cover blurb to give you an idea of what the story’s all about:

Claude Winston has been on remand for the past two months awaiting trial for the attempted murder of two police officers. The evidence against him is overwhelming and he knows that he’s looking at spending the rest of his life behind bars.

Then the unthinkable happens, and Winston escapes, leaving a trail of death and destruction in his wake.

DCI Jack Tyler is the man who put him away the first time around, and now he’s got to do it all over again, before Winston can be smuggled abroad to begin a new life somewhere without an extradition treaty.

Recapturing Winston won’t be easy. There are no clues to go on, and none of Winston’s criminal associates are willing to talk to the police, either out of loyalty or fear. As the pressure ramps up, Tyler realises that he’s going to have to pull off a minor miracle if he’s going to prevent Winston from slipping through his fingers and evading justice.
