JQM LITERARY SPOTLIGHT PRESENTS Phoenix by Patricia Simpson
FIRST, LET’S GET TO KNOW YOU A BIT. TELL US SOMETHING UNIQUE ABOUT YOURSELF:
I’m an author of over twenty books who has published with traditional houses and now enjoys creative freedom as an indie author. I was raised by independent-thinking parents who chose Montana so the family would be safe from pollution and big-city crime. Ironically, my home town turned out to be the site of the worst environmental disaster in the United States.
WHAT IS THE GENRE AND AUDIENCE FOR THIS BOOK:
Phoenix is a dark fantasy that will appeal to lovers of vampire fiction and the Cornish coast.
WHAT WAS THE INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE THIS BOOK:
I was inspired to write this book because I’d never written a redemption story before. It was fun to start out with a heroine that we learned to hate in the first book in the series (The Londo Chronicles), and then see her grow into a real hero in the second book.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR BOOK:
When vampire Overseers execute Eva Wilder’s commissioner husband for treason, she is thrown out of her lavish home and stripped of everything. It’s back to her dreary life in Londo City—a life she thought she had left far behind her. But as Eva waits for the train back to Londo, she recognizes her estranged sister in a line of prisoners. She knows the horrible fate her sister will face, and all because of her own rash decisions long ago. Eva has to do something. But what? Eva must find the courage to battle the vampires who overrun her village, uncover the horrific secret of the Port Pennwood processing facility and vanquish the evil that stalks her sister and now her. This could be Eva’s chance to redeem herself—or the worst decision she’s ever made.
