JQM PRESENTS A BLOG POST INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR Claudia Blood
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
I’m a wrangler: Pet, kid, and story. I’m nerdy. I love dice and D&D. I love science, patterns, and puns, but love magic and ambiguity.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE?
Dreams. I get a scene or situation in my head and work to figure out what the heck is going on.
WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS? WHY?
Alan Dean Foster and Anne McCaffrey are two of my favorites. I love how they did their characters in the worlds that they build.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS? WHY?
I love books. I have favorites in many genres. Nor Crystal Tears by Alan Dean Foster and Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card are two of my favorite. The first because of how relatable a non-human character was. The second was the first book that tricked me with the ending.
WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE LITERARY CHARACTERS? WHY?
Guy from Fahrenheit 451. Everything he believed is turned on its head. He survived.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR FELLOW AUTHORS AND/OR ASPIRING AUTHORS?
Not all feedback is equal because each genre has different expectations. A horror author/feedback is going to be different than what a Romance author/feedback is going to give you,
IMAGINE ONE OF YOUR BOOKS IS ABOUT TO BECOME A FILM OR TV SHOW. WHO IS YOUR “DREAM CAST?” AND WHO DO YOU ASK TO CREATE THE SOUNDTRACK?
For the Main characters for the Relic Trilogy: Duff – a younger Chris Pine Z – Vin Diesel Ravenne – Helena Bonham Carter Matilda – Elizabeth Olsen That one is harder. I love Disney soundtracks, but that may not be right.
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SHARE WITH POTENTIAL READERS?
Right now my favorite character is Ravenne from the Relic Trilogy. She was the bad gal. I have a novella coming out that is her story and a series called Renegades Rising that tells the story before the Relic Trilogy. Ravenne is available on amazon on Oct 24th 2022.
WHERE CAN WE GO TO LEARN MORE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR LITERARY WORKS?
